It's time to BFFR about TikTok.

TikTok SEO is the process of optimizing your videos for search engines. It's important because it helps you get more views, which can lead to more followers and likes. The more people who see your content, the more likely they are to share it with others--and that's how you go viral!

You can use TikTok SEO on any platform where people use hashtags: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and even Google+ (if anyone still uses that). If you want to learn how to do this in detail with specific examples from my experience and tips from other successful users who've gone viral on TikTok before me, keep reading!

1.) Create a Strategy

Before you start creating content, you need to know who your audience is. Do they like funny videos? Are they more into inspirational messages? Or do they enjoy watching people sing karaoke covers of their favorite songs (and yes, this is a real thing)? Once you've identified the type of content that resonates with them, creating something that appeals directly to them will be easier.

Once you know what type of video or photo would be popular in your niche, it's time for research! Look at other TikTok users with similar interests and see what tags they use when posting their videos/photos on the platform. These tags are called keywords and can help boost views because viewers can find more related content when searching through these terms online instead of just browsing randomly through different categories like "Music" or "Funny."

2.) Choose a Unique Username

Your username is the first thing people will see when they visit your channel, so choosing one that's easy to remember and relevant to your content is essential. If you're posting about cooking, for example, "chef_cooking" might be a good choice--but if there are already many chefs with similar usernames (and there probably are), consider something else like "chef_cooking_tips."

You also want to ensure that this is the first time anyone else has taken the username; if they have, then TikTok will give them preference in search results over yours--even if their video is less good!

3.) Optimize Your Profile

Your profile is the first thing people see when they visit your page, so you must optimize it.

  • Include a catchy bio: Your bio should be short and sweet--just enough to let people know who you are and what kind of content they can expect from following you. If anyone has ever told you that "brevity is the soul of wit," they were talking about this!

  • Use relevant hashtags: Hashtags help other users find your account more efficiently by grouping similar posts into one place on TikTok's search engine (which we'll get into later). Make sure any hashtags used in your video titles or descriptions are relevant to what's happening in those videos--for example, if someone uses #TikTokFunnyVideos as part of their description but then posts something completely unrelated like #MyCatHasFleas don't expect them to go viral anytime soon!

8.) Create Quality Content

You need to create quality content to get the most out of TikTok SEO.

That means keeping your videos creative and engaging so that they're relevant to your target audience. You should also ensure that any hashtags you use are popular enough for people searching them to find your video easily--and make sure they're relevant!

9.) Post Regularly

Posting regularly is one of the most important things you can do to grow your audience. It's also one of the most overlooked ways to go viral on TikTok because it's so straightforward!

  • Create a schedule for your posts. You don't have to post daily but stick to a plan that works for you and your brand. If you post once per week, that's fine! Be consistent with your posting frequency so people know when to expect new content.

  • Use relevant hashtags in each caption or video description--but don't overdo it! Suppose someone searches "funny" in TikTok search results and sees an unrelated hashtag like #fashionista or #travelingirls at the end of every single caption/video description (which happens often). In that case, they might think this person only cares about being trendy rather than funny--and no one wants that kind of reputation online!

10.) Engage With Your Audience

As you create your content, engaging with your audience is essential. You can do this by responding to comments, liking other people's posts, and following them.

If you want to go the extra mile, repost some of their videos or comment on them! This will help build a relationship between you and other TikTokers with similar interests.
